I asked myself two questions before writing Aldrig mer Skinnskatteberg. The first question was: How do you make a piece for string orchestra that doesn't sound like a piece for string orchestra? The second question was: What happens if you create music that is heavily polyrhythmic, but persistently avoid the most basic polyrhythmic relation: 2 against 3? The piece constitutes one possible answer to these questions.
